On February 13th, 2021, Purdue Crew athletes completed 20,000 meters on indoor rowing machines in a longstanding team tradition called Row-a-thon. Each year, athletes are asked to complete these meters as a fundraiser for Lafayette Urban Ministry’s Good Samaritan Fund and Purdue Crew. Lafayette Urban Ministry is an organization that works with a collection of local churches to form a social safety net for individuals in the area in financial crisis. Through a tremendously generous effort this year, I am proud to announce we were able to raise a grand total of $40,037.56 toward the Row-a-thon fund, of which $20,018.78 will be specifically donated to LUM to help families in need in the local community. This incredible donation was made possible through nearly 350 donors from all over the United States. I am humbled and in awe of the generosity of family and friends of Purdue Crew. Thank you to all of you who supported the Row-a-thon this year!
