Purdue Crew Awards
This award, named in honor of Fredrick L. Hovde, is the most prestigious award given to any member of the Purdue Crew. This award is voted on by all four squads and is given to the member who through personal sacrifice, loyalty, and perseverance has done the most to uphold the honor and tradition of Purdue Crew.
Originally called the Most Valuable Oarswoman/Oarsman Award (MVO), the award was renamed in honor of Kenneth M. Butler in 1992.This award is given to a representative of each of the Varsity Squads chosen by individual squad members as the MVO.
The Purdue Rowing Association created a Hall of Fame Award to recognize the extraordinary efforts (post college) many alumni and friends of the program have undertaken over the years in contributing their time, expertise, and resources in service of the Purdue Crew team.
